NEANDER at the Seawork International

From June 16th to 18th the boat show Seawork International took place in Southampton (UK). And again our NEANDER turbo diesel outboard engine was presented, this time by our partner E.P. Barrus Ltd – headquartered in Oxfordshire – directly at the quay.

Seawork International is the largest and fastest growing international commercial marine and workboat exhibition and conference held in a European working port environment.

Attracting more than 7,350 high calibre visitors from over 70 countries across the globe, Seawork is where buyers, sellers, innovators and legislators come together for three invaluable days, every year, at one incomparable location – the Port of Southampton, UK.

After having presented our prototype „on shore“ last year, we now kept our word and provided test drives on the water for interested visitors. We decided to use a so called “Inservice” boat owned by the British MoD (Military of Defense) – a typical working boat suitable for a wide range of applications.

During all three days numerous test drives were carried out under sunshine and a gentle breeze. Our two cylinder turbo charged diesel outboard proofed its exceptional skills: a powerful torque over the entire speed range of 600 to 4,000 rpm with a pleasant noise level.

All passengers were impressed by the engine’s smooth running – a fact that confirmed our efforts in the optimizing work of the past six months.

Currently the endurance testing phase for the validation engines is to be started. If they also will do their duty with flying colors we will enter Southampton Harbour with a series engine next June!
